Acorn Recruitment is seeking a Design and Bid Manager for an established design and manufacturing business in Brecon.
Reporting to the Sales Director
Salary - £35,000 to £40,000 per annum
To manage and control the solution design, quotation and tender process as directed by the senior management team.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
*Record, action and allocate all inbound sales enquiries.
*Ensure that all requests for quotation are pre-qualified.
*Ensure that where possible all pre-qualified requests for quotations are completed within 5 working days.
*Regularly review the accuracy of all costing models.
*Create animations to support the sales effort on specific projects.
*Create CAD drawings to accompany formal and budget quotations.
*Utilise value engineering to create cost effective product design.
*Standardisation of product design.
*Build strong relationships with the Project Management team.
*Support the spare part quotation process when required.
*Update ACT on a daily basis
*Update quote book on a daily basis
*Provide daily update to Sales Director regarding jobs quoted.
*Attend FMEA meetings
*Organise concept design meeting with SD, PM's and OM where directed by SD.
*Liaise regularly with operations to discuss any potential capacity issues, special customer requirements etc.
*Keep and record statistics as directed by senior management team
* Visit potential customers as directed my Sales Director.
*Support the project management team with the creation of GA drawing during busy periods
*Act in an advisory capacity on the belt manufacturing project
*Support and assist in the sourcing of component and spare parts.
*Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and within deadlines
*Help develop and build profitable growth
*Key member of product development team
*Uphold company internet policy
*At all times act in a manner that is not detrimental to the company or its image
*Any other reasonable task/activity as directed by the senior management team
Skills and attributes:
*Ability to communicate at all levels
*High level of CAD competence
*Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Inventor software
*Ability to pre-qualify a sales enquiry
*A good understanding of English grammar, diction and punctuation
*Methodical and thorough.
*Good relationship builder, both internal and external
*Good understanding of sales process
*Competent in the use of Microsoft packages
