Acorn achieves Group-wide Investors In People status

One of the UK’s leading recruitment and training companies, the Acorn Group is celebrating after achieving the latest Investors in People (IIP) certification.
This is the first time the entire Group, which incorporates Concept Staffing, Advance Personnel, Acorn Recruitment and Acorn Learning Solutions has attained the accreditation; with only the Acorn branded parts of the group been accredited previously.
The Investors in People standard provides a framework on which Acorn bases its people management and development processes and procedures. The award was based on a three-day audit by an IIP assessor, and his interviews with a cross-section of randomly-selected Acorn staff.
Acorn Director, Sarah John, said: “Acorn already has excellent people management skills and development processes, which are integrated fluently across the whole group.
“The new IIP award is very important, not only to us as a business but also to our clients, candidates and learners as it demonstrates our continuing investment in people despite difficult economic conditions. It not only shows that the Acorn Group is an employer of choice, but also a company that is committed to providing training opportunities to staff, involves staff in decision making, and has managers who are effective in leading and managing staff.”
IIP Assessor Ray Wall said: “Acorn is clearly a successful organisation that recognises the importance of a skilled, motivated and effectively-managed workforce. It has developed a culture that supports and encourages the development of its people and one where people feel that they are treated as important parts of the organisation”.
