Acorn launches into Aerospace & Defence
Acorn, Wales’s leading recruitment and training company, has reacted to continuing business growth by launching a new Defence & Technology Division.
Headed by Director Scott Liddle, the division builds on the strong growth of the company’s technical arm which has seen revenues increase from £2.5m to more than £7.5m in the last two years.
The new operation is also a reaction to the burgeoning defence and technology sector in South Wales in particular, which has enjoyed significant growth in recent years following the Welsh Assembly Government’s commitment to increasing the scope of Wales’s knowledge-led economy.
The division will, however, target the sector across the UK as a whole, building on the wider geographical spread established by Acorn in recent years, including the creation of new regions in Gloucester, Devon and the North West.
Mr Liddle said, “Our clients are increasingly demanding candidates at all levels; the new division is a perfect fit between the executive recruitment arm of Acorn and the technical division, both of which have enjoyed significant growth in recent years.”
Acorn will provide a broad range of key personnel including Programme Managers, Project Managers, Solutions Architects, Specialist Engineers, Communications Consultants, Network Engineers, Analysts Software Engineers and Programmers
The £65m-a-year company currently employs more than 260 staff. Since forming a partnership with one of Europe’s largest recruitment companies, Synergie of France, Acorn has embarked on an expansion programme aimed at creating a £100m-a-year business by 2009.
