Wales’s largest recruitment and training company in Wales has been recognised by steel giant Corus for the exemplary safety record of its supplied staff.
The safety record of the Acorn Group, based in Newport and with divisions throughout the UK, has been recognised by the Corus plant in Trostre through its annual Safety Incentive Scheme award.
Acorn Group is the largest contractor on site at Trostre, supplying more than 80 industrial cleaning and maintenance, carpentry and packaging staff to Corus for the past three years.
The safety incentive scheme has been running for 15 years, and this is the first time Acorn has been honoured. “It’s terrific recognition for us because it demonstrates just how well-regarded all the personnel are supplied to the site by Acorn,” explained Acorn Key Accounts Manager Mark Rudge.
A cheque for Ł250 that accompanied the award was presented to the NSPCC, Acorn’s chosen charity.
Acorn has branches through Wales, the North West of England, South West and Scotland. It is the UK partner of Synergie Group of France, one of Europe’s largest human resources specialists with an annual turnover of more than €1 billion.
Acorn Group employs more than 260 staff and is on course to achieve turnover of Ł65m this financial year.
