South Wales HR Network expands into Swansea & West Wales

The success of a Cardiff-based network for HR professionals has prompted its expansion into Swansea and South Wales.
The South Wales HR Network was launched last year by Cardiff Chamber of Commerce and Acorn, Wales’s largest recruitment and training specialist. Network supporters have included the Royal Mail, solicitors Capital Law and accountancy firm Deloitte.
Following the success of the initiative in Cardiff, the network has joined forces with the West Wales Chamber of Commerce to provide a networking and professional development platform for employees and managers with HR responsibility in the Swansea / West Wales region.
Dan Langford, Director of the HR Network said, “The South Wales HR Network is now firmly established as one of the most important forums for HR professionals and managers across the region.
“Expanding the network into Swansea and West Wales represents a natural progression for the network, while the expansion also fills a void in the information resources available to HR professionals in the area.
“Managing and administering day-to-day HR operations as well as training to keep up with the latest statutory regulations consume valuable time, but it is vital that firms get it right.”
“This forum is helping members do just that by discussing common issues and gaining access to the opinions and advice of leading HR professionals.”
The next meeting of network seminar will be a seminar on ‘Dealing with poor performance’ on Thursday, September 6, at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay, led by Alison Noon-Jones, HR Director, EADS.
The first meeting in Swansea will be on the subject of ‘Reducing Sickness and Absenteeism’. The 7.45am event at the Village Hotel & Leisure Club, Swansea, will be addressed by Paul Wills, HR Manager South West & Wales, Royal Mail, and Pat Kiely, Director of HR Solutions, Acorn.
In their fun and entertaining style, Capital Law will address ‘Christmas Party’ issues on Wednesday, November 28, at the Marriott Hotel, Swansea.
