Acorn Director honoured by marketing profession
Dan Langford, Group Marketing & Communications Director of Acorn, has been recognised with one of the top honours offered by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).
Mr Langford, aged 38, has been elected a Fellow of the 55,000-member Institute, one of just 43 marketing professionals in Wales to have held the Fellowship title.
The CIM, nearly a century old, is the pre-eminent body on marketing practice, standards and associated knowledge, and is internationally acknowledged by governments, marketers, business, education and others.
Formerly Director of Marketing & Communications at UWIC, Mr Langford joined the Acorn Group in 2004
Acorn is Wales’s leading recruitment and training company and one of the fastest growing across the UK. In recent years it has trebled turnover to a target of over Ł90m for 2008, and has also established a strong presence in the North West and South West of England, and in Scotland. Acorn currently places 5,500 people into work every day, as well as delivering training to more than 3,000 learners and placing over 1,500 permanent appointments each year.
The recognition was welcomed by Matt Southall, founder and Managing Director of the Acorn Group, “Sound marketing and communications is vital for modern-day businesses, particularly in the complex ‘business of people’, where effective marketing development and communications activity is fundamental,” he said.
CIM Fellows can only be elected if they possess a strong marketing background of circa 15 years’ experience and a proven record of expertise and success with direct personal involvement and responsibility across several areas of marketing management at a high level.
