Mark’s on his bike his bike from Acorn!
Acorn’s Mark Rudge is among 12 intrepid cyclists taking on one of Wales’s most gruelling charity bike rides.
Mark and his charity teammates are challenging themselves to ride 214 miles in 4 days on mountain bikes, to raise funds for Red Dragon FM’s charity Help A South Wales Child and Pentrepoeth Primary School.
The ride starts at Bangor on the North West tip of Wales on Thursday and ends in Bassaleg, Newport, on Sunday, June 22.
The team of riders are Neil Collier, Carl Johnson, Paul Prothero, Nathan Davies, Richard Pretty, Mark Rudge, David Snell, Richard Miles, Clive Holliday, Steve Beynon and Wayne Cooper.
The Route
- Thursday. - Depart Bangor, Through Snowdonia National Park to Barmouth. 63 miles
- Friday - Barmouth to Rhayader. 65 miles
- Saturday - Rhayader to Abergavenny though Brecon Beacons National Park. approx 51 miles
- Sunday - Abergavenny to Bassaleg. 38 miles.
Mark said, “It’s going to be tough but we’re all looking forward to it. Training has been going great and we’re all hopeful of making it from north to south in one piece.”
