Acorn partners Devils in Community Foundation first

Acorn, Wales’ premier recruitment and training company has become the Cardiff Devils’ first ever Community Foundation Partner. The Devils’ Community Foundation (DCF) has flourished since its inception in July, and now with the support of one of the UK’s leading recruitment and training agencies, the tone has been set for an exciting future.
Brent Pope, Head of the DCF, expressed his delight at the partnership; “The Devils Community Foundation is vital to the successful future of our club and the value of corporate involvement in ensuring its success can’t be underestimated. It’s huge for us and we’re thrilled that Acorn shares our vision and passion for community involvement. “
The Devils Community Foundation is a charitable non-profit making organisation that has strong links with the Cardiff Devils. It encompasses the hugely successful Cardiff Devils Learn to Play programme, Cardiff Devils Juniors, the flourishing Adopt a School programme, Community events and club promotional activities in partnership with Sport Cardiff.
Matt Burge, Cardiff Devils owner, added, “I’m delighted to welcome Acorn as a Community Foundation Partner and together we’re looking forward to seeing our partnership benefit thousands of young people across South Wales.”
Acorn is no stranger to working with children and communities. In January 2005, it became the first business in Wales to become a Corporate Patron of the NSPCC; Acorn is also a Patron of the iconic Wales Millennium Centre, and across the country the company, which is one of Wales’ best-known business brands, also supports a variety of community sports activity.
Dan Langford, Group Marketing Director at Acorn expressed his delight with the new partnership.
“It’s a privilege to be the first Community Foundation Partner of the Devils; Matt and Brent’s vision for the future of the club and the opportunities they aim to open up to the community is both ambitious and inspiring, matching Acorn’s values precisely.
“As Wales’ largest recruitment and training agency, we are fully-engaged with communities right across Wales; we place up to 5,500 workers into temporary assignments for up to 750 different companies each day, as well as completing 1,500 permanent placements annually, and delivering training to nearly 3,000 individuals each year.
“Community well-being and fulfilling potential are powerful motives, and we’re delighted that we’re able to support the Devils in this way.”
