Concept Staffing celebrates 20 years
Concept Staffing, the leading local West Country recruitment company with a £21m turnover, is celebrating 20 successful years in business this month.
Established in 1988, Concept Staffing now operates from 15 locations throughout the region – part of the Acorn Group; finding jobs for up to 5,500 temps with more than 750 different clients each week, and filling 1,500 permanent positions every year.
Concept Staffing has its regional headquarters in Devon and specialises in the catering, commercial, engineering, legal, manufacturing, industrial, sales and accountancy sectors.
The company’s longest-serving temp, Monica Piper from Barnstaple, joined Branch Manager Natasha Berry and her team of consultants to celebrate Concept’s 20th birthday.
Monica, who first registered as a temp with Concept Staffing 18 years ago, has worked in a whole range of positions from legal secretary and hotel receptionist to working for an independent box office.
Sharing a glass of birthday Champagne with the Concept team at the company’s Bideford branch office, Monica said: “I first worked for Concept Staffing in 1990 when my children were young. The flexibility of working for them fitted in with school times, which was important, and the flexibility continues today, even though they have grown up.
“Over the years I have got to know the staff at the Barnstaple branch really well and have found them friendly and helpful, and they have always found assignments to suit me."
Among Concept Staffing’s client list of companies it supplies staff to is Devon-based company Greenfield Engineering.
Nick Westlake, Production Planner of Greenfield Engineering said: “We have been using Concept Staffing for our temporary industrial labour for over 12 months and have been overwhelmed by their commitment.
“We were given a dedicated consultant on hand 24/7 who showed a genuine interest in our business and was there to deal with all our requirements.

In a significant move last December, Concept Staffing became a member of leading UK recruitment company Acorn Group which runs 36 branches throughout the country.
