university credits

Acorn’s Learning and Development Division has received approval to deliver work-based Higher Education Level 4 credit modules until 2015, which are all delivered in bite-size learning sessions to gain and build university credits towards a Foundation Degree.

Working in partnership with UHOVI (Universities Heads of the Valleys Institute), which is a strategic partnership between the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport, Acorn provides a number of level 4 modules, achieving 20 HE credits per course.uhovi newsletter april 2012

funding

Acorn can access funding via the UHOVI Bursary Scheme put in place for the academic year 2011/12 to provide full funding for the first 20 credits only. This is subject to eligibility and a administrative check that the bursary has not be claimed by a delegate previously via UHOVI. This provides an excellent opportunity for 20 credits to be fully funded by the UHOVI initiative.

eligibility - the learner must:

  • be over 18
  • have access to relevant opportunities in the workplace
  • be living, working or volunteering in the UHOVI regions – Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf or Torfaen

Please note: there will be a cost for refreshments of £5.00 plus VAT per day.
