Marketing Manager - Marketing Department
Head Office, Newport

The above vacancy has become available reporting to the Head of Marketing.

purpose:

To develop, plan, deliver and monitor marketing and communications activity in accordance with Acorn’s business development strategy.

responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Group’s Head of Marketing and Acorn’s Senior Management Team to develop and implement successful marketing / communications plans, providing genuine ROI in line with business development aims and objectives.
  • Development of strong brand positioning to underpin and be communicated consistently throughout all marketing activity.
  • Management of customer satisfaction measurement processes; analysing results and together with routine PEST / SWOT examination, making recommendations for continuous improvement to service levels and new product / market development.
  • As an integral member of the Group’s marketing team, to contribute to the wider strategic development of its marketing and communications activities; corporately and on a project-led basis.
  • Working closely with Branch Managers and Divisional heads to implement tactical plans at a local level – forming close working relationships with branches and divisions and utilising the central marketing support services to co-ordinate the following activities:
    • Development of all marketing / sales materials, brochures / leaflets, corporate gifts, mailing inserts, presentation templates, promotions, corporate stationery, advertising, etc.
    • Company attendance at recruitment events / job fairs, local business expos, ‘outreach’ promotional displays / exhibitions, corporate hospitality, networking events and instigation of strategic partnerships
    • Building and maximising relationships with the press / media
    • Development and promotion of the website and other on-line channels
    • Schedule of integrated targeted campaigns and ad hoc advertising requirements
    • Candidate affinity programming including focus groups, communications planning and promotions
    • Customer satisfaction measurement
    • Supporting the drive towards internal buy-in, affinity and morale through the use of effective internal communications
    • Management of all related budgets, robust monitoring / tracking of effectiveness of activity and making recommendations for on-going development
    • Participation in ad hoc projects for other areas of the business as and when required

candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Recent, relevant experience of managing communications and marketing development, across all media channels, internally and externally
  • Qualified or working towards CIM Diploma qualification
  • Excellent planning and implementation skills
  • Be able to motivate others, and have good communication / presentation skills
  • Sound project-management skills and an ability to manage several projects at any one time
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Understanding of PR and the effective management / use of communications with excellent attention to detail and copywriting ability
  • Sound financial judgement, budget management and good analytical competence
  • Able to work independently; developing plans and delivering objectives with little supervision
  • Have a full, clean driving licence

desirable:

  • Familiarity of use of the Welsh language
  • Previous experience within the recruitment / training industry

salary:

    £22,500 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience & car allowance
