We are working with a Large Manufacturing company based in somerset who are looking to recruit a Quality Controller on a temp basis, there is a possibility of this position going Permanent. Principal Responsibilities:
To be the production representative for and to work closely with the QAM in actively instigating, implementing, monitoring and improving the quality systems (ISO 9001:2008, GMP, FEMAS, and RPSGB/VMD) for raw materials and products produced by the company including QC sampling, HACCP, machine calibrations and homogenisation/cross-contamination checks, Non-Conformances, Complaint investigation etc Inputting all relevant data onto Q-Pulse, Excel, MS access and any other activities relevant to QC. Spot checks to ensure quality control of in process goods. Reporting to the Production Manager on this area. Carrying out quality checks following line clearances. Provide authorisation that machines in HHU and AHU are ready to be used (machine and room Clean and Clear; calibration of scales and/or metal detector; check weighs on first appropriate number of units etc). Liaise closely with supervisors and staff whose responsibility that machine is. Sample processing and logging including quarantine release process reporting all quarantine early releases to monthly QA meeting. Organise and send composite sampling to labs (monthly). Record results and check samples have passed. Process Lepicol sampling (samples sent in by customer) and send out results to customer as they arrive Carry out checks or analysis (as appropriate) of raw materials which are due to expire within the next quarter. Carry out cross-contamination and homogenisation testing in conjunction with Supervisors. Carry out Biotrace swabbing in conjunction with supervisors (as appropriate) on all machines prior to use (as part of machine clean and clear process) Carry out glass audits (keeping glass register up to date). Be advised when ANY GLASS breakage has occurred and aid in clearing up process to ensure that no contamination may have occurred (complete appropriate form for breakages) Advise Janine and Aileen of lab results for at least 5 batches of raw materials and products in order for raw materials and/or product re-grading to be carried out. Update excel/access system for re-grades. Should be carried out every 6 months. Carry out daily room clean inspections (completing relevant paperwork) and factory hygiene inspections Ensure fridge is cleaned on regular basis (monthly stock take day) Ensure cleaning products are kept controlled (i.e. put away appropriately) Ensure room temperature and humidity records and fridge temperature records are recorded on daily basis Ensure check weighs are calibrated (internal) and manage external calibration (yearly) checks - making sure that external certificates are read in case they have any recommendations Carry out daily QC checks on all production lines. Provide monthly reports on summary of NCNs and good practices identified during the previous month. Ensure that these points are communicated at weekly production meetings. Ensure that controlled raw materials are securely packaged Sampling of all controlled raw materials on delivery Ensure Good Inwards forms are correctly completed. Ensure that vehicle records are recorded (for deliveries and dispatches) Enforce (along with supervisors) work wear rules Ensure that all products (intermediate and part finished etc) are labelled Provide second signatures for all controlled raw materials (fridge or lock-up) if a supervisor is working on the WO. Ensuring QC start and QC end of WOs are completed in a timely manner. Put away/file retained samples
