In 2016, Acorn launched their legal recruitment division, which has gone from strength to strength expanding to a UK wide offering. 120% year on year growth is anticipated across Acorn’s legal division as firms see a surge in demand requiring additional staffing support.
The Swansea JLD is a group of volunteer lawyers in the Swansea and the greater districts who support people who are at the beginning of their legal careers. Members include undergraduate law students, post-graduate law students, paralegals, trainee solicitors and solicitors. The Division provides expertise and support to those starting out in the profession, and also participate in many different charitable fundraising events and challenges.
Ceri Noble, Associate Solicitor, JCP Solicitors said “The early stages of a career in law can be challenging and demanding, so our primary purpose is to provide a support network to junior lawyers who are looking for advice and support as well as opportunities to network with other legal professionals and develop their legal skills. As such we host a number of different events throughout the year including career development workshops as well as providing essential links between junior lawyers and the different law firms in our locality looking to further their legal career.
Through working in partnership with Acorn we hope to be able to promote the division outside the Swansea area to grow the membership to give more people the opportunity to benefit. The partnership will also provide an opportunity for our members to gain access to valuable support and advice for job applications and CV’s from Acorn’s Specialist Legal Recruiters.”
Michael Ives, Legal Recruiter at Acorn said “We’re excited to be helping new talent entering the legal industry. We’ve seen first-hand the great work the Swansea JLD do, and are really keen to play a part in helping graduates reach their full potential.
The right support and guidance can make all the difference to a person starting out in the legal profession, so it was a complete ‘no-brainer’ to partner with JLD. There is a huge amount of legal talent in Wales and we are delighted to be involved in directly supporting the sector here in Wales to continue to grow and thrive over the coming years.”
