Working in partnership with Acorn

Acorn is delighted to be partnering with Bouygues UK at Cardiff University, in South Wales after they were awarded a contract worth £122.6 million (€134 million) for the construction of its Innovation Campus.

Bouygues UK is determined to make sure that the construction of this project provides a fantastic facility for Cardiff university but through its construction also makes a valuable contribution to the local community through jobs created, work experience, close partnership and collaboration with local educational establishments from primary through to higher education.

The project will turn a disused railway yard into a new space to facilitate creativity, entrepreneurialism and job creation.
What is CIC?

Located at Maindy Park, the Cardiff Innovation Campus (CIC) will incorporate two high-tech centres.

One will house SPARK, the world’s first social science research park, and the Innovation Centre, a creative space for start-ups, spin-outs and partnerships, designed by Hawkins Brown Architects. The other, the Translational Research Facility (TRF), designed by HOK architects, will be home to two leading scientific research establishments: the Institute for Compound Semiconductors and the Cardiff Catalysis Institute.
