Scott Liddle Acorn’s Group Commercial has been named among 14 winners at the annual IoD Director of the Year Awards 2017, which are now in their seventh year.Scott Liddle was named winner in the Medium/Large Business category, which was sponsored by Dribuild.
Celtic Manor owner Sir Terry Matthews was named IoD Chairperson Jean Church’s Director of the Year while IoD Wales Director Robert Lloyd Griffiths’ accolade was given to Debra Barber, Managing Director at Cardiff Airport and Miriam Warner, Managing Director at Miracle Workers Agency was given the Judges’ awards, which wasn’t included in the shortlist but was announced at the event.
Talent & Innovation was also a surprise category, announced on the day and awarded to Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams of Tiny Rebel Brewery in Newport.
There were four additional categories at this year’s awards, which are sponsored by Cardiff Business School and have become an established highlight on the Welsh business calendar, celebrating business achievements and inspirational leaders across Wales while bringing all sectors of the business community together, irrespective of size, geography and longevity. Awards were presented by television presenter Andrea Byrne, from ITV Wales, which is media partner of the awards, which were held at The SSE SWALEC. Effective Communication is also a longstanding partner of the awards.
Scott Liddle said: “I’m delighted to have won this award and more importantly to be part of an event that celebrates the finest Directors and Leaders throughout the country. To have been nominated was testament to the great results that myself and everyone at Acorn has achieved over the last 13 years, and to have won just shows that passion and hard work is fundamental to success.”
