Job Description

Our manufacturing client in the Newport area are looking to recruit an Office Assistant.

You will be joining the admin, logistics and planning department providing services key to the business. This role is to provide sufficient resource to deliver a quality communication, problem solving and administrative service for customers, suppliers, logistics, franchisees and territory managers alike.

Key responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from customers and franchisees and provide a responsive quality customer service as appropriate, by phone, email or face to face
  • Accurately input new customer information and update existing customer information onto company customer relationship database
  • To provide focused and prioritised administrative support as required
  • Arrange courier service for deliveries, as required
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, including passing on messages in a timely manner, to internal and external customers/contacts, as appropriate
  • To develop product knowledge across the full range of the company's products
  • Adhere to Health & Safety rules and procedures
  • Any other duties, as required, commensurate with the level of post

Required skill set

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's including Maths and English
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Database experience
  • High level of accuracy
  • Have excellent interpersonal, communication skills including listening
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently within a close-knit operational team
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and deliver to strict timescales in a fast-paced environment
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle


  • Proven background in one or more of the following: data analysis, business management
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment

This is a temporary position Monday - Friday 37.5 hours paid at £8.91 p/h
