Job Description

Our client is a premier provider of material processing and environmental services to global steel and metals industries and has been developing and manufacturing high performance asphalt products for roadmaking in the UK since the 1960's.

In an exciting development our client is now opening a new production facility in Cardiff which is due to be operational from late 2019. This in turn will be followed by other similar plants across Europe.

Locations are ideally positioned to utilise slag, a by-product of the steel making process to produce premium asphalt products sustainability with 95% recycled materials.

Our client is now recruiting team members for the new site in Cardiff. This will be an exciting opportunity and a fresh challenge for the successful candidate to drive the new business forward from start up. Batch Mixing Operations

  • Pre-start checks & observations
  • Plant housekeeping duties
  • Operation of batch mixing plant to meet customer demands
  • Vehicle loading for distribution to customers

Weighbridge Operations

  • Checking & logging driver & vehicle details
  • Weighing lorries upon arrival and departure
  • Data recording and reporting

Machine Operator (Wheeled Loading Shovel)

  • Previous experience of operating wheeled loading shovels (full training will be provided)
  • Loading feed hoppers and managing site material movements
  • Pre-start checks & observations

Technical Duties

  • Sampling and analysis of raw materials
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reports
  • Pro-active plant monitoring
  • Testing of finished product

Personal attributes

  • Team Player with a flexible, can-do approach
  • Pro-active problem solver with attention to detail
  • Computer literacy and reporting skills
  • Fixed and mobile plant experience

Successful applicants will have a valid Drivers licence, be prepared to undertake a pre-employment medical examination and substance abuse test, and detailed work history.
