Acorn Recruitment is searching for a Site Engineer on behalf of a specialist facilities company in Llanelli.
This company has been managing the facilities aspect for a major worldwide heavy engineering client for over 15 years. Due to continuous demand, the company is looking to increase its current workforce by recruiting an experienced Site Engineer.
The main responsibilities of the Site Engineer will be to manage all facilities operations on site, ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to by section supervisors and workforce (up to 40 staff / contractors).
Other key responsibilities will include:
*Ensuring that all tooling is at the quality required and maintained to
*Ensuring that Workshops, mess room, drying rooms, and offices are maintained to a
high standard of cleanliness and safety at all times.
*Ensuring that all site plant and vehicles inspections are conducted on a regular
basis and any defects raised and corrected immediately.
*Managing the engineering requirements of Subcontractors that are required in certain
section of work or on larger projects. Subcontractors will be comfortable working
and coordinating across larger teams and in doing so they will be required to meet
all Health, Safety and Quality standards.
*Ensuring that the works are undertaken in accordance with all HS&E legislation, and
the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.
*Managing subcontractors, site trades people and suppliers to construct the works
accurately and in a safe manner at all time.
*Supervising site activities to ensure that method statements, risk assessments are
appropriate and are being followed thoroughly throughout the projects.
*Reviewing, producing and implementing risk assessments and method statements for
*Making effective use of document control to manage distribution of information.
*Understanding construction practices and assist in its development specific to their
area of works.
*Assisting in assessing the plant and resource requirements to meet the demands of
site and office based works.
*Understanding that sections of work have an allocated cost and the role they have to
play in ensuring that this is maintained or improved on.
*Understanding the commercial implications behind decisions.
*Communicating the company's quality policy and systems to subcontractors
*Establishing robust on site procedures to ensure that the works proceed in
accordance with best practice.
*Participating in the on-site inspection process and take responsibility for critical
activities when required.

*Identifying a choice of engineering systems on the basis of personal experience.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have medium to heavy industry experience and be educated to at least HNC level in a mechanical discipline.
Applicants must also be confident in the understanding and practices of continuous improvement with the ability to implement and practice on a daily basis and implement change where necessary.
Previous experience within an FM environment expected to compliment the medium to heavy industry sector.
To be considered for this role, applicants must be time-served or educated to at least NVQ level 3, ideally in a mechanical discipline.
Applicants must also have extensive experience in supervising multi-disciplined mechanical teams on maintenance and installation projects.
