Acorn Recruitment is looking for a Trainee Deputy Editor for a business in Sherborne, Dorset, to work on technical civil engineering publications. This is an amazing opportunity to join this small team, whilst being part of a larger highly-respected media owner in the industry.
Main duties include;
*Build and maintain a network of contacts in the civils industry
*Carry out interviews by telephone and face-to-face visits and write articles
*Visit conferences and exhibitions to engage with readers and existing/potential advertising clients, both in the UK and overseas
*Liaise with advertising clients, media partners and internal departments
Ideal candidates will have the following attributes;
*Be able to demonstrate solid writing and proofreading skills
*Experience or qualifications in a structural/civil engineering would be an advantage
*Excellent time-management skills and a keen interest in journalism
*A strong eye for detail and an excellent grasp of grammar and the English language;
