Job Title:Sales Support Technician - Refractories
Reports To:Account Manager
Contract:Permanent, Full Time
Site based technical and commercial support role to facilitate good customer service and assist Sales Managers increase product sales and deliver improved margins.
*Provide comprehensive health & safety support and guidance to management and employees in relation to day to day company front-side operations and UK/NL AR Sales Team
*Provide a professional and high quality technical service and support to customers (internal and external)
*Supervise refractory installations and product trials
*Help identify new business opportunities
Key Result Areas:
*Carry out regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
*Advise on any changes to working practices that are safety and comply with legislation
*Identify training health and safety training needs for Company employees and visitors to the Port Talbot front-side operation
*Assist in driving health and safety improvements on site
*Maintain records including risk assessments, accident and incident reporting
*Represent the Company when dealing with health and safety matters with the Customer
*Assist in the supervision of installations, including, as and when appropriate, active participation
*Assist in identification, organization and technical supervision of trials and provide regular and accurate feedback to assist product development
*Assist in the monitoring of site stock levels to meet operational requirements whilst helping to minimize levels of stock held on site
*Prompt response to all customer enquiries and complaints, including CCAR raising and resolution
*Ensure orders have all necessary information in accordance with contract review procedures
*Provide necessary reports and feedback (internally and to customer) within agreed timescales
Problem Solving & Complexity
Job holder has to be able to interface with employees and customer to facilitate a safe working environment. Working in conjunction with sales management provide a high level customer service through day to day contact with the customer to make sure their needs are met. This is a site based role with minimum travel required, but flexible working is necessary to cover 24/7 site operation.
*Technical qualification (HNC or equivalent) or by experience
*NEBOSH General Health & Safety Certificate or equivalent
*EU Computer Driving licence or equivalent
*Three years in technical support of refractory product categories, preferably with a sales bias
*Good general knowledge of the iron and steel business and refractory competition
*Proficient in using ICT equipment and systems, particularly MS office programs
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
*Getting things done through others
