Counterbalance Stores Operative required

Hours of work: 15.00pm: to 11.00pm: Monday to Friday. £9.61 per hour just under £20,000 salary


An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Stock Control / Stores Operative to work in the Westbury area. The role will also involve elements of production work, and you must have an in date forklift licence.

Key Accountabilities

*Process and deliver all production requests to ensure manufacturing is kept functioning at all times
*Complete the Goods received paperwork
*Undertake regular stock checks and audits, helping to resolve discrepancies
*Report low stock items
*Unloading deliveries safely and in a timely manner
*Carry out forklift truck pre-shift safety checks and report any issues to the Stores Supervisor and/or the Health & Safety Manager
*Ensure the stores area is kept tidy and safe to work in


Health & Safety

*Role model safe behaviour in line with company procedures.
*Understand and implement the H&S Policy, safety standards and legal requirements applying to operations and areas under your control.
*Ensure all persons in your department are aware of:
oLocation of the first aid facilities.
oProcedure for reporting safety concerns and accidents.
oThe routine in case of a fire and other emergencies.
*Ensure all accidents and dangerous occurrences are promptly investigated and findings reported to site senior management.
*Ensure all plant, machinery and equipment in your area of control is safe to use.
*Ensure any hazards have been identified, risk assessed and control measures put in place.
*Ensure that all warehouse personnel in your team follow the appropriate SOP's.

Continuous Improvement

*To drive a 'continuous improvement' culture throughout the department.
*Identify route cause(s) of supply chain waste and introduce effective measures to eliminate/reduce.
*To initiate, drive and support projects relating to process improvements, waste & material variance reduction, labour efficiencies and productivity increases.
*To identify opportunities for improvement/innovation and to develop and implement action to maximise potential benefits of such opportunities for the business.
*Challenge existing practices and behaviours where these deviate from the organisations desired culture.
*Where relevant, complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved.
*Work with other team members to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training and reporting.
*Support the delivery of greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of any unnecessary complexity within business processes and identification of better ways of working

General

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

*Forklift Counterbalance License
*Banksman Training
*Excellent attention to detail skills
*Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment or stores role would be advantageous
*Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
*Ability to work autonomously

Hours of work: 15.00pm: to 11.00pm: Monday to Friday.
