Job Description
Acorn Recruitment is searching for an individual with experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry.


The Document Controller will be responsible for the organisation's drawings / documents and operation coordination. This role will involve coordinating with both internal employees and external clients, suppliers and contractors.


Main duties will include:

*Maintaining the internal Document Control System and procedures for the issuing of
drawings and other documentation for client approval creating an audit trail / log
of communication.
*Logging all comments/ feedback from clients / contractors / consultants and
distributing internally and to suppliers for review/action.
*Raising, issuing and chasing to conclusion to all Requests for Information.
*Receiving and coordinating electronically and in hard copy internal / external
drawings, documents and correspondence.
*Managing upload and download of drawings and documents to several web-based document
management repository systems.
*Creating and issuing Operation & Maintenance Manuals either in hard copy,
electronically to CD or for upload to web-based document management
repository systems.
*Creation of installation information packs on a weekly basis for Installation Teams.
*Organising direct deliveries, co-ordinating and booking installation works with site
contacts and arranging the necessary inductions, accommodation and security
clearances for installation engineers.
*Logging and actioning Warranty calls, arranging Engineer call outs and following
through to resolution.
*Organising commissioning and staff / client training for completed installations
*Processing orders/works instructions.


Person specification:


The applicant is expected to have excellent methodical approach to the organising and maintenance of the many varied tasks and demanding workload / client pressures. Good communication and interpersonal skills are important to be able to confidently communicate with both internal and external contacts.


Additionally it is important that you have a strong commitment to deliver consistent high standards, strong administration skills and are a diligent, self-motivated individual who prides themselves on accuracy and attention to detail. You must be flexible and proactive and have effective time management skills, be able to prioritise workloads and have excellent IT skills.


Construction background is desirable.


The salary for this position is dependent on experience.


Working hours will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.
