Monday to Friday, 08.30 - 16.30

Due to rapid expansion, Acorn is looking to recruit a Goods Inwards Inspector for our client, a specialist manufacturer based in Chepstow.

Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, the post holder will be required to:

*To carry out Goods Inward inspection for all component parts entering the company ensuring compliance to design / materials specification, critical to quality dimensions, Certificate of Conformance (CoC) and First Article Inspection reports (FAIRs).
*To interpret engineering drawings and models to understand critical to quality dimensions and establish the baseline for inspection.
*Accurately record and report supplier quality performance against the requirements of the Goods Inward Inspection Report (GIIR) highlighting where materials do not conform to specification by the raising of a Non-Conformance Report.
*Where non-conformances to specification requirements exist liaise with the relevant technical authority to enable investigation by the appropriate department.
*Control items raised to NCR via segregation from good product
*Manage the process of returning non-conforming items to suppliers for replacement / re-work and notify procurement of the same to manage the commercial relationship with the supplier.
*To review all external First Article Inspection Reports to ensure they have been completed to the required standard and that they are fully compliant to the relevant specification requirements.
*To produce and maintain accurate inspection records and look at reducing Creo's inspection effort by detailing suppliers who consistently deliver to the expected standards.
*Adhere to all instructional and Health & Safety guidelines for the use of equipment to maintain a safe work environment

Key skills, behaviours, competency and experience required:

*Team player
*Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
*Conscientious, and works to continually build relationships and efficient processes
*Attention to detail
*Computer Literate with use of Microsoft Word and Excel
*Experience of working with an ERP system would be an advantage
*Basic qualifications in maths, science and / or an apprenticeship route or qualification would be advantageous
*Experience of working in a manufacturing / engineering environment, working to engineering drawings and technical specifications.
*Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings would be advantageous

You will be required to undertake further professional development.
