Acorn Recruitment is searching for a Procurement Manager to join our client based in Warrington, Cheshire.
Working as part of a small team, the purpose of the role is to support the Senior Head of Procurement in in obtaining the maximum possible benefits from the money spent on goods and services. Ensuring best value for money, high quality, and innovation is delivered at all times.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Supporting the Senior Head of Procurement in the delivery of an expenditure control programme aimed at providing genuine cost improvements across all levels of the business. This will include identifying and generating financial savings for the business through focused contract negotiation around all goods and services.
To lead on Tender and Quotation exercises resulting in the award of formal contracts for the good and services. Specifically, this will involve placing advertisements, receiving and evaluating potentially complex bids and producing recommendation reports for verification by the Head of Procurement/Senior Head of Procurement as appropriate.
Following contract award, conduct contract review meetings as necessary to ensure the contract is performing as expected and there is a robust process in place in the event that the contract does not perform as expected. It is the responsibility of the post holder to ensure that end users are fully involved and engaged in the process at all stages.
In the absence of the Head of Procurement support the production and reporting against Key Performance Indicators to measure progress and success of procurement activity, relating specifically to the post holders areas of responsibility.
Provide regular updates at monthly procurement meetings both to the procurement team and to the wider business on progress regarding CIP delivery and progress against work plans along with mitigating action to recover any shortfalls identified.
Educated to degree level, the successful applicant will have a minimum of 3yrs experience working at a senior purchasing level. Must have demonstrable achievements in a purchasing and supply environment and have formal CIPS membership or level 4.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 37.5hrs per week
Salary: Negotiable dependant on knowledge and experience to offer
