Acorn Executive Search support sport governing bodies in identifying Trustees in order to strengthen their Board.
Wye Gymnastics and Galaxy Cheerleading are looking to recruit four additional trustees in Caldicot.
The board of trustees has an essential role in Wye Gymnastics and Galaxy Cheerleading governance and setting the strategic direction of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
They are currently looking to expand the membership of their board to increase the breadth and depth of experience as they know that a diverse board brings a range of people with specialist skills together.
In particular we are looking for people with the following skills or backgrounds:
*Strategic governance
*Legal
*Property management
*Gymnastics/cheerleading
Trustees are required to:
*Ensure the CIO pursues its objects as defined in its constitution
*Contribute actively to the board in giving strategic direction to the CIO setting overall policy, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets
*Safeguard the good name and values of the CIO
*Ensure the financial stability of the CIO
*Protect and manage the property of the CIO
In addition to the above statutory duties, each trustee is expected to apply their specific skills, knowledge or experience to help the board reach sound decisions and make a practical contribution according to their particular knowledge, skills and experience.
This will involve:
*Scrutinising board papers and regularly attending board meetings
*Leading, and participating in, discussions
*Focusing on key issues
*Providing guidance on new initiatives
*Other issues in which the Board member has special expertise.
Additional Information
Time Commitment: 6 Meetings per year 2/3 hours plus some extra days on an annual basis subject to attendance at events and other trustee commitments.
Terms of Office: Normally 3 years
Wye Gymnastics and Galaxy Cheerleading Strategy
In April 2021 Wye Gymnastics and Galaxy Cheerleading will launch its first strategy since forming as a CIO in March 2018.
Role Details
*This is a voluntary role.
*Time commitment required will vary throughout the year, however we anticipate 1-2 hours per week.
*You will be able to claim travel expenses.
*Start date: March 2021
