Key Responsibilities for a Laundry Production Operative:
-Ensure good housekeeping practices are in operation at all times to reduce risks around the plant of trips, slips and fire.
-Ensuring you are adhering to Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) at the plant and each piece of equipment at all times as trained.
-Helping with other general duties within the production facility which may include cleaning, the removal of waste and other duties on site.
-Packing finished items for delivery to clients and loading linen and other items onto the vans as required.
-Any items found below quality, at the press and folding areas place in the correct area for re-wash whilst maintaining good productivity.
-Complete quality checks on the items as they are fed through the pressing stations and folding stations to the required standard as trained.
-Move linen through factory floor as directed to the next required station for their processing to continue.
-Load/Unload the wet/dry products into the dryers as trained.
-Load/Unload the Continuous Batch Washer (CBW) or commercial washer, in the correct manner as trained.
-Sorting dirty laundry ready to be washed.
-Unloading and pre-sorting of linen, towels and products from the vans and lorries arriving on the loading bay ready for processing.
Shift patterns are as followed:
-7AM to 6PM, 4 ON/3 OFF with 1 hour lunch break (4 days working and 3 days off)
-6PM to 11 PM (standard 5 days working)
The length of the assignment is planned to be around 12 weeks (ongoing).
