Survey Assistant - Wastewater Networks
Full time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday between 06:00 - 17:00 - 8 hrs per day)
Brentford, London

We are seeking to recruit a well-motivated and focused individual to join our client's team of surveyors based in Brentford, London. The job role involves assisting team leaders in carrying out pollution tracing on the wastewater network. This is a rewarding role with potential to progress to team leader and beyond for the right candidate.

The role

The aim of this work is to stop pollution from wastewater entering the River Thames and its tributaries. This is a customer facing role that requires the successful applicant to enter the premises of Thames Water customers to locate pollution sources. Due to the nature of the work, flexibility regarding working hours is essential. This includes occasional Saturday work, early starts and late finishes as required. Overtime rates are paid accordingly. Please note that the work will be outdoors in all weather conditions and will involve manual handling of manhole chamber covers and the like. Applicants must be physically able to undertake these duties.

Your skills and experience

* A demonstrable track-record of reliability and flexibility
* Willingness to learn
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Highly customer focussed
* Full UK driving licence
* Relevant qualifications are desirable, including Unit 2 Signing, Lighting &
Guarding, City & Guilds Confined Spaces Certificate, First Aid etc. (although not
essential as full training can be provided)
* Drainage experience is highly desirable
