Acorn Recruitment is recruiting for two Contracts Managers to be based in either Gloucester or Cardiff on behalf of a prestigious family run business to be based out of their Tewkesbury Depot. They have been operating for 40 years and are one of the largest construction and waste management companies in the South West.

They are recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our Construction division.
The role is varied & will suit a proactive and versatile person.

The successful candidate must:

· Be able to manage construction projects to a high standard
· Possess good people management skills.
· Have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety
· Have a strong focus on delivering projects efficiently but safely.

This is a full-time role and will report to the Construction Manager.

The position is based at their Eastington Depot and / or Contract Sites across the South-West/Wales.

The following are the main responsibilities associated with the position.

Job Purpose

To oversee allocated construction projects in terms of programme, resource management, recording and reporting procedures and liaison with commercial team to ensure the protection of the company.

Responsibilities

* Manage and co-ordinate staff, Sub-Contractors, agency labour, material suppliers, Plant and Utility providers to ensure an efficient method of work to the required quality and project schedule.
* Resource management, HR
* To ensure that site personnel effective daily use of appropriate company Information Systems and databases to include the completion of site diary and daily allocation sheets.
* Manage and deliver the Group's Health and Safety expectations ensuring all Staff and operatives are aware of their responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy
* Complete the relevant documentation on a weekly/monthly basis. Ensure RAMS/HAV and Tool Box talks are in place and are available and briefed for all tasks.
* Preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Assist in the recruitment of skilled Supervisors and Operatives
* At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.
* Liaise with clients to ensure the highest possible customer care performance/satisfaction and complete all relevant inspections and documentation.
* Evaluate and develop project solutions and options.
