Job Description
Acorn is currently offering this unique opportunity for a Scheduler / Planner or a graduate from university with a background in export or production planning with good excel skills to join their clients team working four days on, four days off, from 6am-6pm.

Hours: 4 on 4 off, 6am - 6pm
Salary: £29,000 - £30,000 per annum



Example of role responsibilities:

* Using forward planning, you'll use sales forecasting and historical information to highlight anomalies in non-attainment, including product shortages, so issues can be discussed and reviewed with the senior team

* Meeting forums must be introduced so that all team members concerned have an opportunity to review data and plan for bottlenecks

* Expect accurate stock takes from the operations team and challenge non-conformances. This behaviour must be driven hard in order to ensure the business planning accuracy is sustained within peak periods.

* Ensure sales orders are processed in a timely manner, check their accuracy and measure against forecast

* Carry out reconciliation of PODs order to ensure that customer claims are minimised

* Ensuring all orders are completed to the customer's satisfaction, by the correct
quality specification in the most cost efficient method

* To have an open and honest relationship with the Operations Director to be able to discuss problems and concerns, roadblocks, and new ideas in a positive manner


Your experience:

* Planning experience in manufacturing (desirable)
* To strategically plan, the business performance using the sales forecast and historical data in order to ensure customer orders are met
* To analyse this data and highlight obstacles that stop these orders being achieved (ie. availability and find alternatives for the customer)
* Plan availability and communicate the collection plan with the transport manager
* Measure and publish production, sales and producer performance against an agreed plan
* Ensure goods are received and all PODs are balanced prior to submitting to the accounts team
* To create daily plans for the operations team highlighting capacity issues so that labour can be correctly planned in order to hit budget
* Forward plan seasonal activity and new products and ensure the team are fully briefed so that capacity issues can be dealt with in a timely manner
* Proactively work within the senior management team to improve business performance challenging the status quo and supporting other colleagues to achieve their own objectives
* To ensure that food materials dispatched are safe, legal and of the quality expected by the business and customer


Essential:

* Good written and spoken English
* Must have excellent Excel skills
* Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Self motivated
* Strong multi-tasking skills
* Health and Safety awareness
