Senior Software Developer (Python/AWS)

Rate is £600 a day
Remote work with adhoc travel to Exeter
6 month contract.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer (Python/AWS), with a passion for development to join our client in Exeter (predominantly remote working).

The successful candidate will have experience in developing software applications and have a solid understanding of the engineering development cycles and methods. You will have experience working with Python, as well as hands-on knowledge of AWS, CDK and GitHub. You will have experience with software architecture principles, cloud computing principles and distributed systems, and be comfortable with multi-threading, synchronous and asynchronous communications.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to quickly identify solutions to any issues that arise as well as have the ability to function independently as well as within a team.

We expect the successful candidate to demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to the team as well as good communication skills and the ability to understand instructions and apply them correctly.

Responsibilities:

* Design and development of cutting-edge software applications
* Writing software code in Python to ensure that all applications meet the highest quality standards
* Development of reliable, accurate and usable application components
* Working with the development team and other stakeholders to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of software applications
* Interacting with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are fully met
* Assisting in the implementation of process and engineering improvements

Requirements:

* 5+ years of experience in software development with Python
* Expert level knowledge in AWS, CDK and GitHub
* Experience building robust software applications from scratch
* Demonstrated ability to design for scale and performance
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team

Security Clearance required.
