Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of their prestigious client in Clydach, Swansea for a Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator. This is an exciting new permanent opportunity within the engineering team.
The Mond Nickel Refinery, owned & operated by Vale Europe celebrated 120 years of production last year, and is one of the world's leading Nickel refineries. Vale are globally one of the world's largest mining companies, with operations in the UK, Asia, the USA and across Europe.
The Mechanical Maintenance Co-Ordinator is accountable for the safe and efficient daily deployment of the maintenance team. The role will be responsible for the completion of the weekly maintenance plan but also responsible for coordinating any unplanned work that might arise within operational areas.
The role supports the production units by utilising specialist knowledge and skill to undertake scheduled and corrective Maintenance work as well as responding to breakdowns during normal and outside normal working hours.
The successful applicant will have extensive Mechanical / maintenance experience & be computer literate. A working knowledge of SAP being is beneficial, as daily duties will include the issuing of job cards together with RAMS for each task, liaising with the shift team leader and senior process Co-Ordinator to arrange the timely raising of permits when necessary. During shutdown periods they will assist in the arranging and supervising of contract assistance, raising requisitions following receipt of quotes and writing notifications to work together with Risk Assessments for contractor work.
Further to this, they will be required to order stores stock items and replacement parts again, via SAP. Training will be provided in "Peoplesoft" to assist with maintaining the time and attendance records of team members.
The role requires the ability to work at height and in confined spaces together with the wearing of BA equipment to facilitate entry when necessary. To be considered for the above role, the applicant must have completed a four-year mechanical apprenticeship, together with a suitable period of work experience in a heavy industrial environment, knowledge pertinent to a nickel refinery, or similar would be an advantage. They must also have a positive can-do attitude whilst maintaining a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues.
Salary: £39,270 - £41,820, plus annual bonus.
