Welder/Fabricator - Leading Engineering Business - Cullompton

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a full-time position that will be based in Cullompton.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of MIG and STIG welding and metal fabrication, as well as a keen eye for quality work.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established engineering business and become part of a talented and motivated team. You will be based out of our client's Cullompton site and will be exposed to a wide range of different projects that will require a variety of skills including multi-materials including steel and other types of metals, weld repairs, and general fabrication.


About the Role:

As Welder / Fabricator, your main duties and responsibilities will include:

* Welding and fabricating steel components for pumps, mills and other equipment

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

* Identifying and rectifying defects on materials and components

* Operating in a safe and professional manner

* Independently producing components with minimal instruction

* High-quality and safe welding/fabrication working

* Working under minimal supervision

* Understanding engineering standards

* Working with large and heavy components and structures


Role Requirements:

* Proven experience using MIG and STIG welding and fabrication methods

* Experience working with metal and other materials

* Ability to read detailed engineering drawings

* Working knowledge of the relevant health and safety regulations and requirements

* Proven experience in a welding and fabrication environment

* High attention to detail and ability to consistently deliver high-quality work

* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

* Ability to work in a team as well as being capable of working independently

* Good problem solving skills

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
