Acorn by Synergie seeks a qualified and experienced High Reach Electric Forklift Mechanic to join their client's warehouse team in Bermuda. In this role, you will be responsible for condition monitoring, planned and reactive maintenance of forklifts, predominantly side loaders.

Responsibilities include ongoing maintenance, general diagnostics, and repair of trucks and other heavy equipment as required. The successful candidate must be a qualified high reach forklift operator and assist with stocking, order preparation, and product restocking.

Additionally, you will diagnose faults, perform subsequent repairs, and conduct safety inspections. Comprehensive training on the company's range of workshop machinery will be provided, and you will have the autonomy to organize your workshop according to your preferences.

About the Company:

Our client is a market leader in the Bermuda area and is looking to expand its team with the addition of a Forklift Mechanic due to increased demand. This presents an exciting opportunity to join a family-run company with regular training opportunities. You will enjoy a varied and technically challenging role while experiencing the unique lifestyle that Bermuda has to offer.

About You:

  • Ideal candidates will have experience working on forklifts, HGVs, side loaders, or plant equipment, with strong expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
  • Mechanical engineering background is essential, with training provided on the company's products.
  • Experience with heavy equipment, including power tools, diagnostic equipment, hydraulics, and calibration tools, is required.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse health and safety protocols is necessary.
  • Candidates with formal equipment certifications will be given preference. Good general health is required, as this role involves physical tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Service and inspection of forklifts
  • Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Working five days out of seven, with Sundays off.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Mechanical engineering and pneumatic experience
  • Service and inspection experience
  • Background in vehicles, HGVs, LGVs, forklift trucks, or plant equipment.

Please note that this is a full-time position, so independent contractors need not apply.

Acorn by Synergie acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
