Promotion at Acorn showcases commitment to Apprenticeships

Leading multi-specialist recruitment and training agency, Acorn, has made a key promotion within its Cardiff branch showcasing the company's commitment to Apprenticeships and staff development.

Taylor-Dee Jacka, 25, from Pontypridd, has been promoted to Recruitment Consultant following her previous roles as Apprentice and Resourcer for the UK-wide company, which has a reputation for delivering specialist recruitment in key sectors, including; IT & Digital, Nursing, Senior Executive and Construction.

In her new role, Taylor-Dee will be working with a number of key clients including Panasonic and Cardiff University.

The promotion is the next step for Taylor-Dee who first joined the company in March 2011 as an Apprentice, successfully completing NVQs in Business Administration and Customer Service.

Speaking about her promotion, Taylor-Dee said: "working at Acorn has been a great experience to-date. No working day is ever the same and I have been able to learn so much over the last four years, through my Apprenticeships and by placing a variety of people into different jobs, including administrative, retail and analyst positions. As a result, I've developed a really good rapport with businesses and job seekers in the Cardiff area.

"Working for such a respected player in the recruitment and training market has meant that I'm able to work on some huge contracts, including the Crown Commercial Service supplier framework - the non-medical, non-clinical temporary staffing framework for the National Health Service (NHS)."

Katrina Raposo, Commercial Manager, added: "at Acorn, we believe that it is incredibly important to invest time in our employees, helping them to reach their full potential. Taylor-Dee has been a fantastic addition to the Cardiff team since joining the company four years ago, and is a great example of how Apprenticeships can really benefit both an employer and employee.

"She has gained a vast amount of experience in recruitment since joining us and her promotion comes at a very significant period for us as more and more companies are coming to Acorn to manage their permanent and temporary recruitment needs within a number of specialist industries."

With more than 20 years in the business, Acorn has its UK headquarters at the Celtic Springs Business Park in Newport and operates from 39 branches across Wales, the South West, North West and South East of England.

Acorn places up to 6,500 people into the workplace with around 1,200 different clients every week. The group also delivers training to more than 1,000 individuals and makes 1,700 permanent placements every year.
