We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician for a large international food manufacturing company based in Gloucestershire.
You will be responsible for Quality Control for incoming raw materials and finished goods and your duties will include the following:
-The preparation of samples and implementation of relevant QC testing.
-The maintenance of a system for filing and storage of retained samples.
-To maintain records of certificates of analysis for incoming raw materials and finished goods.
-To arrange for the testing (on-site or off-site) of raw materials and finished goods, for microbiological, sensory, chemical or any other relevant method required for QC compliance or to assist with non-conformance investigation.
-To input and maintain relevant batch process documentation and retained samples to satisfy internal policy and external accreditation requirements
-To operate and maintain the positive release system for the site's production goods to meet customer and regulatory expectations
-To ensure that the appropriate QC certification is supplied to customers for delivered products
-To liaise with the QSHE Manager to assist in the resolution of customer complaints, internal non-conformances and technical quality issues
-To ensure non-conforming material is isolated, data recorded and advise other departments of product rejection.
-To ensure that all equipment and materials required for raw material and finished goods assessments are kept at the correct stock levels, are suitably maintained and are calibrated and fit for purpose.
-Work with respect to the company's standard policy and procedures, external audit requirements: BRC, Kosher, Halal, ISO 1400, HACCP and customer standards
-Identify opportunities for improvements in the QC / QA processes
-To liaise with Warehouse, Technical , Production and Planning departments as required
-Assist the Technical function in the evaluation of materials and procedures for improvement in the plant or lab.
-To provide product matching and sample support to the Technical department
-To assist in the implementation of the environmental swabbing process on the site as per schedule
The working hours will be: 07.45 - 16.00 / 08.45 - 17.00 - Monday to Friday.
Our client is flexible and will consider somebody with a background in A Level chemistry; they are happy to train the right candidate or will consider degree qualified individuals or those with previous experience in a similar role.
