Function: Infrastructure Management (CVL)
Job Reports To: Buildings & Civils Engineer
Location: Treforest Estate, Pontypridd
*To provide technical support to the Buildings & Civils Engineer & Assistant Engineer Building & Civils.
*Assist with visual, technical inspections, surveys and reports in accordance with CVL standards.
*Assist with identification, scoping and detailing of identified works arising from asset inspections.
*Undertake minor design work under direction from the Buildings and Civils Engineer and investigations into Civils technical issues and performance related delays to identify root causes, trends and hence deliver plans and actions to reduce impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other relevant instructions.
*Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
*Undertake and direct work activities in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
*Control and check the quality of work undertaken and confirm assets are compliant to standards.
*Establish and maintain appropriate safety arrangements for staff under your control including Contractors.
*Check that the staff under your control have the appropriate and valid competencies.
*Supervise site works as directed
*Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
*Assist with the maintenance of the computerised asset management system to ensure that the Civils Assets and work bank accurately reflect the asset condition.
*Contribute to your own development and that of others.
*Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Experience, skills, knowledge, competencies and qualifications
*Hold (or be working towards) a BTEC (or equivalent) in a structures or civil engineering discipline.
*Experience of arranging and implementing safe systems of work.
*Knowledge of how to organise and control the safe and efficient delivery of work.
*Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team.
*Able to work alone or as in a team environment
*Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
*Knowledge of structures inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
*Conversant with standards, procedures and instructions.
*Conversant with office business IT systems i.e. Microsoft Office
*Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post, required by business need
*Full UK driving licence and be able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need
