Acorn Executive Search is working in partnership with Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) to recruit a Director of Development, reporting to the Corporate Director of Central Services and Development you will be responsible for a high performing development team.
At CCHA no two days are the same! Your days will be filled developing and delivering new homes, leading and inspiring others and helping to make CCHA a great housing association! You will develop trust based relationships with our local authority partners, developers and constructors and other housing associations. Role Profile includes…
*Work with the Corporate Leadership and the Board on setting the strategic pathway for development
*Lead the delivery of the emerging Development Strategy
*Lead a high performing, values based team delivering a large development programme
*Be the organisational advisor on all development related matters and activities
*Set the standards for design and quality, delivering homes that people want and are proud to live in
*Lead on all major development negotiations including land, collaborative and package deals for CCHA
*Oversee all financial planning processes and budgets associated with housing development
*Work closely with the Property Team to embed life cycle costing principles within development activities
*Act as the key contact for Senior Local Authority Officers on all development matters
*Oversee the effectiveness of liaison protocols with local stakeholders and tenants for new development proposals
*Lead a wide range of consultants to support the effective delivery of development schemes
*Seek new and innovative solutions to contribute the organization's wider strategic goals e.g. fuel poverty, decarbonisation, place making, value for money
*Work as part of the senior management team of CCHA to create an organization that everyone can be proud of
*Oversee and seek assurance that all statutory requirements are being met by all development practices
*i.e. health and safety legislation, Construction and Design Management (CDM) regulations, the Data Protection Act
*Act as an ambassador for CCHA leading on inter sector and intra sector initiatives
*Seek innovative partnerships with local authority partners, developers, constructors and other housing associations to maximize affordable home numbers
*Set and monitor key performance measures for development activities
*Contribute to the organisation's Risk Assurance Framework and embed risk management throughout the team
