Job Description
An amazing opportunity has arisen for a Senior Data Protection Lawyer to join a dynamic forwarding thinking and progressive legal firm with a difference. This role can be fully remote or from one of the firms many offices in England.

The successful person will have excellent academics, and will have been trained in a Legal 100 law firm. In-house lawyers can also be considered for this role as there is no need to bring a following with them due to the firm having its own dedicated business development team.

The right person will possess excellent client care skills and also have the ability to form strong and lasting client relationships. A willingness to work as part of a team but also happy working autonomously is essential for success in this role, as is excellent communication skills both in verbal and written form.

Part-time working can be considered for this role but the minimum working requirement would be the equivalent of 3 days working hours spread over a 4 or 5 day week. There is a flexible approach to the working day in order to accommodate those with other commitments.

We require all applicants to have an outstanding skill set in this area of law which must include:

* An excellent understanding of data protection legislation and be completely up-to-date in recent developments in DPA.
* Good knowledge of direct marketing and targeting marketing on social media and use of cookies;
* Cross border transfers of data; complex data subject access requests;
* General privacy compliance, creating and maintaining data protection programmes and ability to draft relevant documents. E
* Experience of advising on cyber risk and data breaches and also liaison with the ICO;
* Experience of a wide mix of data protection contracts;
* A wide knowledge of information security, risk management, due diligence assessments, and information governance;
* Experience of advising and supporting data protection litigation.

To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate the following:

* Trained in a Legal 100 Law Firm or an In-House law firm with a reputation for excellence preferably specialising in DPA Law.
* A minimum of 2:1 (preferably 1:1 Law degree) from an Oxbridge or Russell Group University.
* Commendation or above LLM/LPC
* Minimum 3 grade A at A-Levels
