Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for Electricians to work on a temporary basis. Electricians will be responsible for general maintenance and improvements to domestic and untenanted properties.

Monday - Friday 37 hours per week

£15.17 per hour raising to £15.89 per hour after 12 weeks

Location - Throughout the Caerphilly borough

To undertake more advanced diagnostic electrical work and installations associated with repairs, maintenance, refurbishment and ensure all building work undertaken is completed to an acceptable standard.

Pre-inspect and diagnose selected repair requirements via the Maintenance Schedule of Rates to identify required resources, materials and plant to undertake building maintenance improvements works and ensure the efficient use of these resources.

Responsible for certifying your own work and the work of other qualified electrical tradespersons to approve that the work has been completed in full compliance with relevant NICEIC Safe Regulations.

Accurately record work undertaken via the Maintenance Schedule of Rates identifying relevant Schedule of Rates codes, actual working time, materials and plant used in the execution of Housing Repair Operations.

Essential skills

Ability to operate in a multi-task, multi-functional environment and perform designated jobs or multi-functional tasks.

Capable of working on own initiative or within a team environment.

Diagnostic skills and experience to pre-inspect & diagnose requirements.

Knowledge of relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and Health & related safety issues.

Relevant experience within a contract environment for refurbishment, installation or new works.

Essential Qualifications and training

• Asbestos Awareness Training
• Manual Handling (No E-Learning)
• Working at Heights or Ladder Training
• Minimum NVQ Level 2
• Electrical Installations IEE current Edition of the Wiring Regulations (City and Guilds 2382-18)
• Inspection and Testing (City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent), (all to BS 7671)
• Caerphilly Full UK Category B (Cars) Driving Licence
