QA Technician

Location: Wales
Salary: £36,000 - £38,000
Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Hours: Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours

About the Role

As a QA Technician, you'll play a vital part in ensuring product quality and process compliance through robust testing, detailed documentation, and active support of continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Perform in-line and final product lab tests to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain and enhance product safety standards in line with GMP and BRC requirements.
  • Conduct analytical retain testing to support customer complaints and queries.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, traceable records to support audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage document and change control processes.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis (CoAs).

Supporting Production & R&D

  • Plan and run lab and R&D trials.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and First Article Inspection (FAI), including preparing documentation and generating part numbers.
  • Oversee the quarantine stock system to prevent release of non-conforming products.

Continuous Improvement & Analysis

  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations.
  • Compile cost-of-quality reports and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Manage equipment calibration and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).

Shared QA Duties

  • Assist with routine lab testing across all product categories.
  • Manage label printing to ensure correct versions/specifications.
  • Handle QA admin tasks (scanning, filing, digital records).
  • Help maintain lab cleanliness and support colleagues during peak periods.
  • Organise dispatch of samples via couriers and collect production paperwork to ensure traceability.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Science, Quality, Production Engineering) or equivalent experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in QA/QC or lab coordination, ideally within manufacturing or packaging.
  • Familiar with GMP, BRC, ISO9001, ISO14001 or similar standards.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using MS Office and writing technical reports.
  • Organised, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing production needs, with a can-do attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Willing to take on development opportunities with potential to progress within the company.
