Production Planner Wanted
Acorn by Synergie are looking for Production Planner who will work with various teams, manage inventory, and optimise production flow to meet demand while minimising costs.
Job Details:
- Assignment Length: 8 to 12 weeks but could be longer.
- Pay Rate: From £16.00 to £17.00 per hour (based on experience).
- Contract Type: Temporary.
- Location: Plymouth.
Role Overview:
As a Production Planner you will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and timely delivery of goods
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing production schedules: Creating detailed plans for production based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and available resources.
- Managing inventory: Monitoring stock levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to prevent shortages or excess.
- Coordinating with teams: Collaborating with sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and logistics to align production plans and ensure smooth operations.
- Optimising production processes: Identifying bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production line and implementing solutions to improve workflow and throughput.
- Monitoring production progress: Tracking the status of production orders, identifying potential delays, and taking corrective actions.
- Forecasting demand: Analysing historical sales data and market trends to predict future demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
- Ensuring quality control: Implementing measures to maintain product quality throughout the production process.
- Managing resources: Determining equipment requirements, scheduling work shifts, and allocating resources effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills: Ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain detailed records.
- Proficiency in production planning software and tools: Familiarity with ERP systems, MRP systems, and other relevant software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management: Understanding of the entire production lifecycle, from raw materials to finished goods.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines: Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
