Microbiologist

Cardiff | £13.84 per hour | 37.5 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8am - 4pm | Long-term rolling contract

Acorn Recruitment is partnering with a global life sciences manufacturer seeking a Microbiologist for a long-term rolling contract, initially for approximately 12 months. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable organisation within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively within the microbiology team to ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Conduct microbiological testing on manufactured products using basic microbiology techniques.
• Perform environmental monitoring of Cleanrooms and Controlled Environments.
• Prepare microbiological agars and media in line with standard operating procedures.
• Accurately enter and trend data for quality control purposes.
• Carry out basic laboratory duties including cleaning, stock management, and disposal of laboratory waste.
• Complete required training and key task assessments to maintain compliance and competency.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Biology, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• Solid understanding of basic microbiological techniques.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
• Previous experience in a microbiology role within a regulated environment is preferred.
