Acorn supports local charity Share

Leading multi-specialist recruitment and training agency, Acorn, is set to support local charity Share (Supporting Homeless Assisting Refugees Everywhere) to help raise awareness of the initiative.

Founded in September 2015, Share was set up on the back of a public out-cry to help the homeless and refugees.  Share Shop is part of the initiative that sells food and drink to the general public with the proceeds going towards those in need. The store, based in Chester, also acts as a collection point, inviting local people to donate goods, including clothes, and encouraging people to ‘buy a brick’ for just £1 to help build a new house in the area.

From the 22nd of February, UK-wide Acorn will sponsor Share Shop for a week, in a bid to raise awareness of the cause.

Alison Birse, Director of Operations (North), said: “we are thrilled to be able to support the activity that Share Shop are doing. They have achieved so much in such a short time, and we therefore want to help spread the word.

“At Acorn, we strongly believe in supporting charities and organisation within the local community. We are looking forward to visiting the shop in Chester and will of course be donating as many goods as we can from Acorn staff all over the UK.”

Adam Dandy, Share co-founder, added: “we’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone at Acorn for sponsoring Share Shop – we aim to take our support right across the region and are there to help the homeless and refugees, and thanks to companies like Acorn we can continue building on our vision.”

With more than 23 years in the business, Acorn is in the leading 1% of all agencies across the UK, operating from 39 branches across Wales and the South West, North West and South East of England, including in Wrexham, Flint, Preston, Widnes, and Crewe locations.
